The reform of bus services across the UK is creating new opportunities to rethink the design of bus networks. Sometimes, these networks have seen little change for ages even as the cities they serve, and the values that motivate leaders, have changed profoundly. Jarrett Walker, the author of the book Human Transit, has been the lead designer on more than 50 bus network design projects around the world, including the redesign of Dublin (now being implemented) and more recently for the Irish Republic's other main cities: Cork, Limerick, Galway, and Waterford. He will talk about his approach to network design and lessons from his past experience.
