General Transit Feed Structure (GTFS) data for analysing bus networks

The General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) is a data specification that allows public transit agencies to publish their transit data in a format that can be consumed by a wide variety of software applications. The data can be used to help to analyse existing bus services and patterns to assist with the appraisal of proposed public transport schemes. Bus operators have a duty to publish data on the GTFS regularly.
