Adopting a customer-centric approach to future mobility planning to support car-lite and car-free developments

A CILT regional event where WSP will present on their work helping to deliver sustainable places and communities by integrating customer-centric, future mobility principles and interventions into masterplan developments.

The presentation will cover WSP’s human-centred design approach to ‘Decide and Provide’ transport assessments, which moves away from traditional transport assessments that forecast out past trip rates (known as ‘Predict and Provide’) to a more vision-led approach based on propensities of future residents to shift modes.

The presentation will also cover innovative approaches to freight and logistics, and considerations for the provision of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in new developments. WSP’s customer-centric, future mobility approach will be brought to life through a number of case studies.
